Jeremy Sheldon re-elected as 

Chair of The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

2025-2026

 

 

The British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong (the Chamber) held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 18 June 2025, together with an Extraordinary General Meeting of the Elected Members of its General Committee.

 

Jeremy Sheldon of Jones Lang LaSalle Limited was re-elected as Chair of the Chamber for the 2025–2026 term.

 

Additionally, the following leadership appointments were confirmed:

 

  • Paul McSheaffrey (KPMG) was re-elected as Vice Chair.

  • Rachel Huf (Barclays Bank PLC) was re-elected as Vice Chair.

  • Keith Pogson (Ernst & Young) was re-elected as Treasurer.

 

The Chamber also welcomed George Edmunds (Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited) as a new Elected Member. The Chamber also passed on its thanks to Richard Sell (Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited) for his services to the Chamber over the years.

 

In his Chair’s report, Mr. Sheldon reflected on a productive year for the Chamber and expressed his gratitude to members for their continued support.

 

Mr. Sheldon commented: 

 

“This year has been marked by significant engagement with key stakeholders, both members and government officials in Hong Kong, China and beyond. We continued our focus on enhancing the Chamber’s role in promoting economic growth and fostering a vibrant business community. I am honored to have had the opportunity to lead the Committee through this period.” 

 

A new initiative for the Chamber this year has been the launch of its Asia’s World City x BritCham Campaign. Mr. Sheldon said: 

 

“A key focus for the Chamber has been the Asia's World City x BritCham Campaign. This initiative is member/business led and aims to re-energise Hong Kong’s position as a premier global business hub. By leveraging its unique position as a gateway to/from China, and out into the wider world, we have been working closely with government and business leaders to highlight Hong Kong's great strengths and opportunities. While the campaign has garnered significant support, we want to double down on our efforts in the coming years.”

Jeremy is the Head of Leasing Advisory and client partnerships, Asia Pacific for JLL. He sits on JLL’s APAC board. Jeremy has lived overseas for over 35 years and has been in the property industry for over 40 years. In this time, he has been based in Europe, the US and most significantly over 30 years in Hong Kong. He works with real estate operators, whether occupiers, developers or owners, providing a local,

regional, and global perspective to the challenges faced in HK and APAC.

 

Jeremy believes that his experience in real estate, centred on business transformation, Proptech /digitization and operational innovation can benefit the Chamber and its members. With an increasing focus on sustainability, the DE&I agenda, and technological innovation, he believes this focus can assist with concerns/ issues that affect the Chamber members in Hong Kong and the broader Hong Kong business environment into the Greater Bay Area. The work being done by the Chamber is a primary focus for the future of Hong Kong.
