Member Meeting: Annual Chamber "Door Knock" Visit to the UK
11 March 2021
In early January, the Chamber Chairman, Peter Burnett and Executive Director, David Graham, embarked on the annual Chamber "door knock" visit to London, to meet with relevant government departments, business organisations and other key stakeholders in the UK with an interest in Hong Kong. Whilst the visit was somewhat different this year and took place virtually, it was a great opportunity to position the Chamber as a key business partner, and as an authoritative voice of international business in Hong Kong.
There was a high degree of interest from all stakeholders and three themes dominated our discussions. The first was the response to Covid-19 and the multiple measures the Hong Kong Government has implemented to contain the virus. Second, the National Security Law in the light of recent events. And third, the opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
Given the exceptional set of circumstances which formed the backdrop to these meetings, the Chairman and Executive Director would like to provide members with a briefing on their visit and the priorities for the Chamber in the coming year.
We look forward to sharing more with you during this virtual member meeting.
