The purpose of these skills financial planning skills sessions is to equip attendees with the foundational knowledge required to start building personal wealth effectively in Hong Kong.
The host will also provide practical tools, methods and applications you can take away from the session and start using in your day-to-day life. This is part 1 of a two-part series. This session will include the following topics:
- Know your numbers – Before you can even think about building wealth, you need to get a grasp of your current financial situation. This section will provide attendees with free templates to take away and a tutorial to enable them to track their own net worth, incomes, expenses and current savings rate all in one place.
- Establish your financial safety net – Investing without a solid financial foundation could lead to problems later down the line. This section will help attendees understand how to calculate a sensible cash buffer. It will also discuss why personal insurance is still essential to consider outside of company benefits and help attendees navigate the maze of insurance products in Hong Kong.
- Increase your capacity to invest – This section will help attendees calculate how much they need to invest to reach their financial independence goal. Attendees will also learn an exercise they can use to reduce expenses and increase investing capacity for the future without sacrificing the present.
A free financial planning ebook will be provided for attendees who attend both sessions 1 and 2.
About the speaker
Sam Harley of Pyrmont Wealth helps millennial professionals make sense of their money and make smart financial decisions for their future.
He is licensed to provide advice both in Hong Kong and the UK and has been based Hong Kong since 2019.
