2024 Hong Kong Budget Response and Property Market Outlook

This seminar offers real estate professionals, investors, developers, financiers, and other stakeholders an analysis of the Hong Kong property market, along with a discussion on the implications of the 2024 Hong Kong budget. Following the Market Outlook, the seminar will feature interactive discussions and a dedicated Q&A session. These sessions will delve into the budget's influence on the business climate, investor sentiment, and foreign investment. About the guest panellists

Thomas Lam has 23+ years of experience in the Asian real estate industry. He is the General Manager of Asset and Portfolio Management at New World Development Company Limited, where he leads a team handling acquisition, disposal, marketing, and leasing of various asset classes. Thomas is a Fellow of HKIS, RICS, and HKSI. He previously worked for international property consultancy firms, overseeing valuation and consultancy services in China and the Asia Pacific region. He also worked for an investment bank, focusing on property finance and securitization in the Chinese market. He is also a licenced estate agent in Hong Kong and a visiting lecturer in the University of Hong Kong - Institute for China Business.

 

Christina Hau is the Chief Executive Officer of Champion Real Estate Investment Trust, overseeing its strategic development, asset management, asset enhancement and investment opportunities. Christina is a Registered Architect in Hong Kong with over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, covering design, planning, project management and asset management of renowned world-class commercial complexes. Prior to joining the REIT Manager, Ms Hau worked at Hong Kong’s leading real estate listed companies overseeing key investment properties in Mainland China. Christina graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with degrees in Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Social Sciences (Hons). She is a member of Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Hong Kong Chapter Board Member of Asia Pacific Real Assets Association (APREA).


 

Hannah has 17+ years of experience in valuation, advisory, development consultancy, and financial analysis. She began her career in Hong Kong, working with major international clients in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. As the Head of Valuation & Advisory Services at Colliers in Hong Kong, she manages operations, account management, and project delivery. She focuses on identifying emerging sectors like data centres, ESG Advisory, and cold storage. Hannah has a successful track record with financial institutions, real estate companies, and private equity firms such as Link REIT, Prosperity REIT, and Angelo Gordon. She actively contributes to Women in Business committees, advocating for women empowerment and gender equality.

 

About the moderator & speaker

Shaman has 19 years’ experience in the real estate industry across Asia and Europe. As Senior Director | Asia at Colliers, he advises clients across the hotel & commercial real estate sectors in Hong Kong and key international markets. He works with hotel owners, operators, family offices, PERE funds, developers and other investors. He is Chair of BritCham’s Real Estate Committee, part of the ULI Hospitality Development Council and a member the China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong & International Chapter. He is licensed under the Hong Kong Estate Agents Authority, qualified in 'Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management' and is co-founder of YAMA Foundation (yamahk.org).

 

Kathy is a highly esteemed professional who possesses more than 18 years of expertise in the field. In addition to her involvement in these iconic projects in Hong Kong, her advisory services have catered to a diverse clientele, including developers, government bodies, and international retailers. Notably, she has conducted almost 20 comprehensive retail consultancy studies for esteemed organisations such as the Hong Kong Housing Authority and the Hong Kong Housing Society. As a town planner, Kathy possesses a unique perspective on the Hong Kong property market and has an in-depth understanding of how government planning and policies impact the industry.
