About the speakers
Ben Bennett, Investment Strategist and Board Member, Legal & General Investment Management Asia
Ben Bennett joined LGIM’s London team in 2008, initially focusing on credit strategy before taking on the role of Head of Investment Strategy and Research, coordinating LGIM’s research from long-term themes to short term market drivers. He also chaired the monthly investment macro meeting for many years, a key input for portfolio risk across the active strategies.
He relocated to Hong Kong in 2020, joining the LGIM Asia board of directors to help grow LGIM’s investment business across the APAC region.
Ben started his career in 1999 as a credit strategist at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London, before performing the same role at both BNP Paribas and Lehman Brothers. Ben holds an MA in Mathematics from Queens' College, Cambridge University.
Chris Brooks, Partner, St. James’s Place
Chris Brooks is 16 year resident of HK; a seasoned Partner at St. James’s Place, with a particular interest in financial markets. He specializes in assisting clients achieve and exceed their financial goals, taking into account other factors such as ultimate residency and tax implications thereof as well as individual requirements for portfolio construction; he’s married to his wife Jodi and has two young sons Coram aged 10 and Connor, aged 8.
Louise Loo, Lead Economist, Oxford Economics
Louise Loo is a Lead Economist at Oxford Economics , with a focus on Greater China. Prior to OE, she was a senior economist at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. At Goldman Sachs, she was also an advisor to China MoF with regards to its sovereign credit rating. Louise is originally from Malaysia and has earned Economics and public policy degrees with Sheffield University and Columbia University.
