About the Opening Keynote Speaker

The Honourable Mrs Regina Ip LAU Suk Yee, GBM, GBS, JP
Convenor of the Non-Official Members of the Executive Council (ExCo)
Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region 

Mrs. Ip worked for the Hong Kong Government from 1975 to 2003. During that time, she served in a wide range of areas includ ing implementation of district administration international trade and industry and security . She was the first woman to be appointed the head of a disciplined service (Immigration Department) (1996 - 98) and as Secretary for Security of Hong Kong (1998 - 2003).

In 2003 Mrs. Ip resigned from her position in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to pursue higher studies. In June 2006 she returned to Hong Kong after completing the MA program in East Asian Studies at Stanford University. In July 2006, she established Savantas Policy Institute, a think tank focused on tackling the twin structural constitutional and economic problems of Hong Kong. The core vision of Savantas is to transform Hong Kong into a knowledge-based economy.

In September 2008, Mrs. Ip was elected Legislative Counci l M em ber in the Hong Kong Island geographical constituency.

In January 2011 , Mrs. Ip founded New People’s Party and was elected the Party's chairperson. She was re-elected as Legislative Council Member in September 2012 - 2016, and December 2021 (in the Hong Kong Island West constituency

In October 2012 and July 2017 , Mrs. Ip was appointed Non-Official Member of the Executive Council.

In September 2015, she established the "Maritime Silk Road Society" (MSRS) with the core objective of promoting the "Belt and Road Initiative", and is now Co-Chair of the organisation.

In December 2016, Mrs. Ip resigned from the Executive Council. She ran in both 2012 and 2017 Chief Executive elections. She was re-appointed to the Executive Council on 1 July 2017.

On 1 July 2022, Mrs. Ip was appointed Convenor of the Non-Official Members of the Executive Council of the sixth term of the HKSAR Government.

 

About the fireside chat speakers

Henry Tse
Founder
Transgender Equality Hong Kong

Henry is a transgender man who was refused a male HKID by the Hong Kong Government. As a result, Henry filed a judicial review in 2017 to challenge the Government on its current coercive policy on full sex reassignment surgery and eventually won his case in February 2023. He uses himself as a vehicle to push the Government to enact gender recognition legislation for the better lives of the transgender community.

As a LGBT+ activist, Henry has extensive experience in engaging various stakeholders, and sharing his story and other LGBT+ subjects locally and overseas. In 2020, he founded Transgender Equality Hong Kong.

Henry is the 2018 Community Business Transgender Inclusion Champion, a 2023 TIME Next Generation Leader, a 2023 Tatler Gen.T Honouree, the recipient of the 2023 Prism Award issued by the Hong Kong Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and a Pam Baker Human Rights Scholar of the LLM (Human Rights) Programme at the University of Hong Kong.


Felicity McRobb

Felicity McRobb is the founder of ‘McRobb Consulting,’ a regional coaching and leadership development initiative based in Hong Kong. Born and brought up in Wales, UK, she first lived in Asia in 1984 and has lived in Japan, Saudi Arabia, Portland, Oregon and for the last twelve years, Hong Kong. She is known as a master coach, and leadership developer, working with individuals and teams, across geographies and cultures, gender and age groups to enhance collaboration, teamwork and performance in fast-paced environments. Early in her career, Felicity established herself as a pioneer in the arena of women’s leadership, and meritocracy-based cultures, both in the developed and developing world. In 2023 she was awarded the American Chamber of Commerce, Women of Influence Award; “Champion For The Advancement of Women.”

Felicity is committed to her clients enjoying remarkable success and exceeding their organizational and individual ambitions. She has worked with clients in the technology, fast-moving consumer goods, luxury, travel retail, consulting and manufacturing industries.

She is a proud TEDx coach, EXCO member of ‘EMPOWER’ by The Amber Foundation, and a Board member of the American Chamber of Commerce.

 

About the guest speaker

Nikki Davies
Founder

As a recognised global Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) subject matter expert and thought leader, Nikki Davies has crafted and executed strategies to strengthen inclusion, deepen belonging, drive diverse representation, deliver equity and justice in large and medium sized organisations. She founded her own consultancy CoNEXTion.online in 2023.

Her strength is working with people to find solutions that have impact, adapting initiatives to suit local environments, while achieving overall measurable strategic objectives: operationalising DEIB.

Nikki has developed an approach for building strategy leveraging INSEADs Advancing Diversity & Inclusion framework and incorporating human-centred design innovation tools, to uncover the systemic challenges uniquely faced by each organisation in their current context, and then propose an action-based plan, with measurable outcomes to drive the change that leaders are committed to: building organisations where people thrive.

Successful initiatives include Diverse Talent Sponsorship Programmes, Inclusive Recruiting, DEIB E-learning, Employee Network and Resource Group Frameworks, Hybrid Working Playbooks, Policies, Procedures, Inclusive Marketing.

 

About the workshop activity facilitator

Jen Flowers
Group and ASP Head of Customer Intelligence and Partnerships, Wealth and Personal Banking
HSBC

Jen is currently the Group Head of Customer Intelligence and Partnerships at HSBC Wealth & Personal Bank. She is an avid design thinker and innovator helping companies be more customer centric and thinking outside the box. Outside of work she actively involved in women communities and was the co-founder and founder of TEDxTinHauWomen and TEDxShanghaiWomen. She is on the board of the American Chamber and serves on the Women of Influence steering committee. She has also recently joined the HK Chapter of Asian University of Women (AUW) as a board member helping sending women to university, get internships and job placements post-graduation.

  

About the emcees

Eileen O'Connell
FSO Alliances Leader, Asia Pacific

Eileen is a leader in the EY APAC FSO Markets team, focused on the financial services industry including financial market infrastructures (FMIs). As the FSO Alliances leader, she works closely with our technology alliance partners to drive digital transformation for our clients. She has more than 25 years of business development and consulting experience in I.T. across markets world-wide, including Europe and the US, with 20 of those years in Asia-Pacific, and based in Hong Kong. She specializes in Go-To-Market strategy, digital transformation, Ecosystem development, business transformation and relationship management.

As a passionate Champion of DEIB, Eileen has been the Chair of the British Chamber’s Women in Business committee since 2019. During that time, she has driven growth in membership and increased the focus on Advocacy and Policy work with government. Eileen was a mentor on the 2021/22 cohort of The Women’s Foundation (TWF) mentoring programme inspiring the next generation of female leaders. She has been a Director on the international fundraising board of the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation since 2011, supporting disadvantaged children at risk in Mongolia and Vietnam.

A Permanent Resident of Hong Kong SAR, Eileen attempts to speak Cantonese and to play mahjong (both rudimentary!) and has been involved in a number of local community initiatives. Eileen is originally from the UK, of Irish ancestry, has a BSc in from London University, three step-children, two rescue dogs and a full boat driving licence.


Eleanor Coleman

Eleanor Coleman is the Founder of The Financial Empowerment Group. She aims to help women and the LGBTQ+ community to understand and master their finances through planning, education and action.

Drawing on her 18 years of experience working for international banks in Hong Kong, Eleanor delivers regular seminars and workshops including the popular series "A Man is Not a Plan". She uses her expertise to help people define and achieve their dreams, take control of their finances and realise true financial freedom.
