Talent – What do we need to do to win the war? 

A session looking at the war for talent (in light of all the initiatives focused on in the Summit), the challenges that Hong Kong faces and how to overcome those challenges. 

 

 About the speakers

Eileen Burnett-Kant is the Chief Human Resources Officer at CLP Holdings Limited where she is responsible for all Human Resources related matters across the Group. She is also a member of the Group Executive Committee.

Originally from Scotland, Eileen obtained her Masters of Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and subsequently obtained a Masters of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School. 

Eileen commenced her career with ICI, and subsequently was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in the United Kingdom and Australia. She then went in-house in Supply Chain and Operations roles prior to moving into Human Resources.

Eileen held a number of senior Human Resources roles and was most recently Group Executive – Human Resources at Orica prior to joining CLP. She holds British and Australian nationality. 

 

Florence Wong is the Head of Human Resources for Hong Kong, Macau, Japan and Co-head of Human Resources for Greater Bay Area, at Standard Chartered Bank. She is responsible for driving business performance through effective development and implementation of strategic people initiatives for the business functions in the regions and adding value to the strategic direction, planning and performance of the HR community.

Florence has held a number of key roles at Standard Chartered Bank including HR Head for Consumer Banking HK, HR Head for Support functions, HR Head for Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking (CCIB) for Hong Kong & Greater China and North Asia (GCNA). She is a seasoned HR Leader who has built strong relationships with business leaders to effectively manage change and successfully drive the people agenda. 

Prior to joining Standard Chartered Bank, she held different roles in the Human Resources function in PepsiCo Australia, encompassing employee and industrial relations, compensation and benefits, resourcing and corporate strategy. She also has two years’ HR consultancy experience with the Watson Wyatt Company in Hong Kong.

 

Kerry Rooks is the Group Chief People Officer at HKEX and is a member of the HKEX Management Committee. Prior to joining HKEX, Ms Rooks was Chief Human Resources Officer at Prudential, Hong Kong. She has also worked in various Human Resources roles for New York Life International - Asia, based out of Hong Kong; AIG in both New York and Hong Kong; and Prudential Life Insurance in Tokyo.

Ms Rooks holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, Australia.

About the moderator
