About the speakers

Jo took up her position as British Consul-General Guangzhou in July 2019. 
She leads the British Government’s engagement in the provinces of South China: Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hunan and Jiangxi. 

Jo has worked for the British government for over 20 years. From 2014-2017, she was Director of International Trade and Investment at the British Consulate General in Hong Kong. She has previously served as Private Secretary to a Minister of State and completed two postings at the UK Representation to the European Union. In addition to working for the Foreign Office and Department for International Trade, she has worked at the Cabinet Office and Department for Education in roles focused on improving and modernising public services.

Jo graduated from Durham University with a degree in Modern European Languages.

 

Jiang Wu joined UKEF in July 2020 as UKEF’s first representative for China to support UK export to China as well as UK-China cooperation in third countries.
 
Jiang has over a decade worth of experiences in assisting a range of multinational industrial companies including Eastman Chemical, Ingersoll Rand and Alstom to enter or grow in China through developing corporate strategies and executing mergers & acquisitions transactions. Her last corporate role was as Project Financing Director for global energy giant Alstom to commercialise carbon capture & storage technologies worldwide, where she worked extensively with governments, global ECAs, multilaterals and commercial banks.  

 

Mr. Tang specializes in real estate M&A, investment and financing, project development, lease and transfer, urban renewal, hotel management projects and general corporate, etc. 

Mr. Tang has provided legal services for varies type of investors, including real estate companies, institutional investors, trust companies, etc., in real estate investments through M&A, real estate loans and trust/asset management plans. 

Mr. Tang has also provided legal service for real estate companies in project development, with typical case experience including the residential projects built on Shenzhen Subway Line 4 developed by MTR Property Development (Shenzhen) Company Limited, and the Shum Yip UpperHills project which is a complex of  commercial and residential properties. 

Mr. Tang has also provides legal services to Wal-mart, Parkland, Tahoe group, Ocean Property, SCPG and CSCEC International in their real estate and infrastructure businesses. 

Mr. Tang joined King & Wood in 2011 and is currently a partner of Corporate Department of King & Wood Mallesons Shenzhen Office.
Mr. Tang is qualified in PRC and New York.
