The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (the “GBA”) initiative was launched in 2017 and since then there has been no doubt about the substantial potential of the GBA. Whilst its landmass takes up less than one percent of the whole of China, it accounts for 12 percent of its National GDP and has been a focal point for the Asia business community for the last three years.

Chinese authorities have recently issued new measures to guide financial reforms and provide direction to financial openings in the GBA. These measures include the long-awaited Wealth Management Connect and Insurance Connect.

The Chamber has brought together a panel of experts to discuss the opportunities in the financial services sector within the GBA. We will be joined by Dr King Au, the Executive Director from the Financial Services Development Council who will share their latest report on policy recommendations’ in key areas, Josephine Kwan, an audit partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers, who will share the latest findings from a PwC report in developing a GBA mindset and the mobility of people, data, and capital in GBA; and Rose Kay, Head of Greater Bay Area at Standard Chartered who will also act a moderator of the panel and will also share the opportunities and challenges arising from the recent policy announcements in the GBA.

Join us to hear more about the opportunities and challenges within financial services in the GBA from leading experts in this field.

Details on how to join will be sent via email by 5pm the day before the webinar.
