COVID-19 and supply chain disruption: Can you rely on force majeure?

Businesses large and small are smarting from the effects of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), but the position can be exacerbated by delays, outages and disputes caused by problems with upstream and downstream counterparties.

Peter Bullock and Urszula McCormack, partners at international law firm King & Wood Mallesons, will review the following, to unpack these thorny issues:

  • What is force majeure and how does it work?
  • Does COVID-19 constitute a force majeure event, and what are the parameters within which it might?
  • Is your contract frustrated, and what does that mean?
  • How does this interact with de-coupling?
  • Can it apply so as to permit delayed payment?
  • Do regulators get involved?

There will be ample time for question and answers after a 25-30 minute presentation via Zoom.

Details on how to join this webinar will be sent via email within 24 hours of the webinar start time.
