There have been more than 20 major changes to the UK property tax rules over the last six years. In this session, Jason Pearce from Old Mutual International will talk about some of the most relevant and significant tax changes that impact you as a landlord or an occupant. He will discuss how you should evaluate your investments and future opportunities with your eyes wide open to retaining more wealth for longer.
Investors either invest in UK property for a growth-focused, long-term return, or invest for an income over a shorter period. However, the best investment return needn’t be the largest return. At the end of the investment you have a post-tax investment return that you or your loved ones can spend. Be aware, one size doesn’t fit all, but the rules apply to everybody.
About the speaker
Jason was born in Gloucestershire and educated at the universities of Cardiff and Oxford. He
has over 20 years' experience in financial services in the UK and Hong Kong. He specialises in providing technical support on pensions, trust planning and legacy planning for expatriates and internationally mobile customers. He holds the CII's Advanced Financial Planning Certificate, with specialist qualifications in pensions. He also holds the STEP Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for international clients.
