Speaker:
Dustin Jones, former Managing Director, Fung Retailing Group

The retail market in China is going from strength to strength, with its innovative and early adoption of new technologies offering an insight into the future of the industry. So how can companies here in Hong Kong, and globally, tap into some of this growing market?

Our next event in the Retail and Consumer series, sponsored by PwC, aims to address this question. We will be joined by retail veteran Dustin Jones, a former MD of Fung Retailing, who will talk about the future of expanding retail into China, the economic silver and areas of opportunity for retail growth in this next phase of China’s economic dominance. He will also touch on what New Retail really means for consumers.

About the speaker
Dustin Jones is a former Managing Director of the Fung Retailing Group. He led the companies “Brand Accelerator Platform - ARC” which focused on Smart Retail and O2O services for international brands entering China through all consumer channels.

Prior to Fung Retailing, Dustin worked at Macy’s Inc. for over 14 years and gained meaningful experience across most of Macy’s major business functions including Sourcing and Product Development, Stores, Merchandising and Buying, e- Commerce and Operations. During his tenure at Macy’s the company’s market share grew from US$9B and 150 stores to US$28B and 880 stores and had #1 online market share in fashion.

In 2016, Dustin became the Managing Director of Macy’s China. He led his team to successfully launch Macy’s in China and grew its brand awareness from 12% to 36% through building a strong partnership with Alibaba Group and highly innovative supply chain and technology solutions that enabled the Company to sell over 50,000 product types from 400 brands in the market.

Throughout his time at Macy’s, Dustin developed a strong reputation for understanding consumer trends, building, growing, and profitably leading great brands, and finding sustainable partnerships and business models to drive success.
