At this lunch seminar, Stephanie Chan, Tax Consultant at The Fry Group, Mark Hampton and Miranda John, Directors at SPF Private Clients, will provide a snap-shot of the UK property market trends and forecasts, how you can secure the best UK and international mortgage rates as an expat and some tops tips on how your UK property investment can be as tax efficient as possible. Following the presentation, there will be plenty of time allowed for questions and answers and the opportunity to talk directly to our speakers.

This session will cover:

• Current trends and forecasts in the UK property and mortgage market
• How expats can secure a mortgage on UK property and the pitfalls to avoid
• Income and Inheritance Tax implications of owning property
• Other financial planning related considerations


About the speakers

Stephanie Chan  joined The Fry Group as Tax Consultant for the Hong Kong office in September 2017. She brings qualified expertise to the international tax team. As well as being a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) Stephanie also has a Certificate of Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB). She supports the personal financial planning team in Hong Kong providing UK tax advice for our locally-based British expatriate clients. In addition to her day-to-day tax advice work Stephanie also conducts regular tax-led forums and seminars on behalf of the company. These forums and seminars provide updates on any new legislation that affects UK taxation.



Mark Hampton started with the company in 1999 and specialises in the Expat UK residential and buy to let markets.  Mark visits Hong Kong and Singapore on a regular basis and has built strong relationships with key lenders and private banks.  This has given him access to a wide range of mortgage options for the Far East Expat community.





Miranda John, Director of SPF Private Clients, who joined in 2007 and she heads up SPF’s International Division. Miranda provides finance for high value overseas properties, predominantly in Europe. She has a wealth of experience in this niche market covering all aspects of mortgage finance, whilst taking into account any tax advantages that may be available in these key jurisdictions.
