Tim Hall, Director of Buildoffsite, will explore the international imperative to transform the productivity of the construction industry. Drawing parallels with the Hong Kong Development Bureau and its planned delivery through the Construction Industry Council (CIC), he will explore the approach the UK Government has embarked on to transform capability in the sector through the Construction Sector Deal.

Whilst offsite construction does not address all of the problems, there is huge potential for the Hong Kong construction sector to address the current challenges of skills shortages, high cost and disruption by taking an industrialised approach.

There will be an opportunity for Hong Kong businesses to gain first mover advantage by embarking on an industrial approach ahead of the CIC’s anticipated launch of an organisation akin to Buildoffsite later this year.

The key message is that the industry needs to change its thinking and behaviour to deliver construction and infrastructure requirements. Will your organisation Modernise or Die?

About the Speaker

Tim Hall is the Director of Buildoffsite having been part of the membership for many years with Total Flow.  He brings to the role thirty years’ experience in instigating and managing change in manufacturing, construction and logistics.

Tim is working with the UK Government to ensure that Buildoffsite shifts the emphasis from promoting to enabling construction offsite.  Buildoffsite is unique in its membership of clients, contractors, manufacturers, designers and specialists and our role is to act as the catalyst for members and the wider industry to collaborate and deliver greater construction value.

Buildoffsite’s emphasis is on application of tried and tested techniques to design and build waste free supply chains across housing, infrastructure, energy and the wider built environment.  Tim’s practical experience of hands-on transformation puts Buildoffsite at the heart of improving our industry in line with the 2025 UK Construction Commitments:
