Did you know that all UK residential property is within the scope of inheritance tax regardless of whether you are a domiciled or non-domiciled property owner?
Over the past two years the UK Government have announced major changes which may affect you if you are;
- A UK resident individual who lets residential properties in the UK or overseas
- A non-UK resident individual who lets residential properties in the UK
- An individual who lets such properties in partnership
- A trustee or beneficiary of trusts liable for Income Tax on property profits
Tony Smith, Head of the St. James’s Place Tax and Technical team in Asia, will provide an overview of the UK property taxation and how recent changes announced by the UK Government could impact expats in relation to income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax.
The levels and bases of taxation, and reliefs from taxation, can change at any time. The value of any tax relief depends on individual circumstances.
