Future Leaders Mentorship Scheme 2023-2024
The aim of the Mentorship Scheme is to provide “Future Leaders” the opportunity to receive career and business development advice and guidance from senior business personnel within the British Chamber. The target demographic will be young professionals in Hong Kong who are eager to learn new skills, seek professional advice and forge new relationships within the business community.
The scheme will run for a period of 12 months from the date of the first meeting. Guidance will be provided on the structure of the scheme but the emphasis will be on the individual participant to set objectives and targets with their respective mentor to achieve personal and professional development.

The Programme
The Mentorship Scheme will have two (2) components: 1-on-1 session and access to relevant Chamber events
• 1-on-1 Sessions
Mentors and mentees will be matched according to specific areas of work and interests based on the application. We are also introducing 'skills based' session mid way through the scheme.
It is recommended that the matched mentors and mentees meet at least four times throughout the year based on an agreed schedule. In the meetings, they are encouraged to discuss and share information about important topics and issues related to work and life, such as work-life balance, lifelong education, career planning and career change, leadership, and networking. The topics/themes for discussion should be set based on what the mentees and mentors find most suitable and interesting.
• Skills-based session(s)
There will be at least one skills-based session for the mentees and mentors for personal development.
• Access to Relevant Chamber events
E.g. Breakfast briefings, evening seminars, webinars and networking events
Throughout the programme, there will be events covering a variety of topics of interest to both the mentor and the mentee. Mentors are encouraged to invite mentees to these events. These sessions will form an interactive platform for mentees to learn, participate and share their own ideas and experiences.
