Luxury & Retail Committee

The Committee represents and promotes the collective interests of the luxury and retail industry in Hong Kong, including luxury brands, food & beverage, hospitality and consumer goods. 

The Committee shares relevant best practice and provides support and advice within the Committee. To be at the forefront of change, addressing topics that concern industry professionals including inviting influential speakers to meetings and selecting relevant reports/finding to discuss.

The Committee aims to educate & innovate by contributing to the Chamber’s programme of events by actively suggesting speakers and topics on key issues and trends that arise in the luxury and retail industry. The Committee also acts as a great business and social forum for members to network and meet other industry leaders.

Born in Italy and based in Hong Kong, Giovanna has more than 20 years’ management experience with top luxury brands around the world, such as Marc Jacobs, Ermenegildo Zegna, Burberry, Saint Laurent, Gucci and Prada. She holds certificates in Digital Communication from the MIT Sloan School of Management and in Orchestrating Winning Performance from IMD Business School, and now serves as vice president of IMD’s Hong Kong alumni club. Heading up Red T Group, Tamsin’s main interest is to innovate processes within the art world to increase impact and convenience for both clients and artists. In 2004, she founded the Red T Space in Beijing; a gallery for emerging contemporary Chinese art, Affordable Art Beijing and Red T Music. She was the inaugural director of Ben Brown Fine Arts in Hong Kong, launching the Andre Fu designed space and exhibiting artists such as Ron Arad, Candida Höfer and Pablo Picasso. She spent time in Melbourne as director of Art Melbourne and co founder of The Art Recruiter, a global recruitment firm for the art world. William approached the Jamie Oliver UK restaurant group with a proposal to open Jamie’s Italian restaurants across Hong Kong and China – after successfully negotiating the franchise rights William then secured investment and assembled a management team, including Non-Executive Chairman Lord Evan Mervyn Davies (former CEO and Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank). The first Jamie’s Italian restaurant opened in July this year in Causeway Bay and the group has plans for further expansion. Before the incorporation of the Big Cat Group Limited in April 2013, William worked for Jardine Matheson & Co. Limited for more than 11 years. He held a number of operational and business development roles across their Dairy Farm, Jardine Restaurant and Aviation groups. William has lived in Asia for 15 years. He speaks fluent Mandarin and holds a B.A. (Hons) degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Leeds.
