OBJECTIVES

Terms of Reference

The role of the Committee is to attract small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to join the Chamber, to represent them within it, to ensure they benefit (and perceive themselves to benefit) from membership and to ensure that their membership strengthens the position of the Chamber as representing British Business in Hong Kong.

This role includes:

  • Encouraging SMEs to join the Chamber and take part in Chamber and SME activities, and communicating the capabilities and aims of the Chamber to SME's (e.g. New Member events);
  • Providing SMEs with support and a voice within the Chamber, and externally through liaison with governmental and other bodies (e.g. representation on/advice to General Committee; responses to external surveys on SME matters);
  • Providing SMEs with a forum to interact with the Chamber's members, its executive and administration 

Arranging activities and events of value to SMEs and encouraging and assisting the Chamber to do so (e.g. training seminars, matched business missions, special interest groups).

What is Living Business?

Living Business is a programme for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) developed by HSBC, with the support of the Business Environment Council (BEC), to help your company be more profitable and productive by implementing socially and environmentally responsible business practices.
