Just as the world seemed to be recovering from the US credit crunch and financial crisis, Europe's sovereign credit turmoil hit. Regardless of its impact on fiscal policies in Europe, globally, monetary policy is likely to remain expansionary during this tumultuous time. Meanwhile, China's measures against property market speculation seem to be coming at the worst possible time given global market conditions. In this environment the alarmist "China hard-landing" view is quickly gaining acceptance. But is this really true?
Morgan Stanley's Chief Economist for Greater China, Qing Wang, and Hong Kong and China Strategist, Jerry Lou, will debate these issues and offer insights into where China is heading.
