Come and join the Women In Business networking lunch, a great chance to network with fellow female chamber members
We continue in June with our ever popular networking lunches, but this one has a twist! Over a delicious meal at the exclusive China Club, you will learn how to do business... with chopsticks.
Living and working in Hong Kong means a lot of Chinese food! Most of us feel comfortable eating with friends and family but what about when it comes to entertaining, or being entertained by, important clients? There are major differences between the eating cultures in Hong Kong and the Mainland, and getting the etiquette right can really help you to build solid relationships with your clients. Getting it wrong can leave you looking culturally insensitive and could cost you a deal.
Over lunch Jeannette Ho, a specialist in this area, will cover some of the most important points to remember if you want to make a good impression:
- Dinner table etiquette in Hong Kong and China
- How to prepare when you are hosting a Chinese client
- How to avoid commonly occurring, but seriously embarrassing, errors
- The right way to handle drinking at dinner
Come and join your fellow chamber members and non-members to network and promote yourself and your business in a friendly, relaxed environment. If you would like to bring any marketing collateral/leaflets for your company, please feel free and we will have somewhere to display them.
Please note the dress code at the China Club is business attire: no t-shirts, polo-shirts, short-trousers, sandals, trainers or slippers. Price includes Chinese meal with one glass of wine/beer or soft drink.
