• What do you do when someone approaches you and offers to be your business partner bringing in needed expertise and skills to help to develop your company?

• What do you do when a venture capitalist approaches you with an offer of an injection of cash to help you to grow your business?

This Seminar will discuss and present some options that will help you in the process of making logical and legally sensible decisions regarding growing your business by joining forces with a business partner – silent or vocal. These decisions can have very long term implications. Padraig will focus the talk on collaborations such as joint ventures and venture capital financing.

This presentation will interest members who have reached a crossroads in the development of their business, and want to hear practical insights on decisions they must make to move to the next stage of development. Although targeted at businesses in the early to mid-stage of development, many of the risk factors addressed will be relevant to mature businesses looking to change direction from organic growth.

Seminar Outline:
Growing your business from infancy to maturity poses many challenges.  At the early stages, you trade in the currency of ideas, not profit.  Gradually, your business may gain traction, and potential of success moves to possibility and even to probability. Then the ethereal vision of what dreams may come, becomes the reality of what choices must be made.

Those choices include:
• Growing organically
• Entering strategic alliances or joint ventures
• Accessing funding through venture capital investment

There is no right or wrong answer, but you will leave this presentation equipped with the questions you need to ask to make an informed decision. It will be followed by an interactive Q & A session.
