In 1988 the "Morris worm" crawled across the emerging internet and attacked computers and passwords. Since then, the internet has become the primary way many people work, socialise and even bank. Unfortunately, our computers and passwords are still under attack by worms and hackers every day. Fortunately, there are things we can do to keep our computers, our families and ourselves safe online.

Few SMEs have the luxury of in-house IT capabilities. This talk will focus on how SMEs can stay safe on the modern internet. It will include tips and simple cost-saving strategies on how to avoid identity theft, how to keep your computer safe, the importance in choosing good passwords and how to detect when something suspicious is happening. It will also include a demonstration of how hackers break into computers and websites, in order to better understand the attacks that are reported by the media.
