The Chamber's Scottish Business Group has invited Brian Stevenson, Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, to speak at this special lunch to update Chamber members on the Jockey Club's diverse business interests and activities, and to hear his views on the challenges and opportunities facing one of Hong Kong's oldest institutions.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club is a world leader in the provision of horse racing, sporting and betting entertainment. Besides being one of the oldest membership clubs in Asia, the HKJC also holds a special status in Hong Kong as the largest private donor of charitable funds.

Brian Stevenson has been a Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club since 1999 and became its Chairman in 2010. He is the 22nd Chairman and 6th Scotsman to hold that position in the history of the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s 125 years.
He is also a non-executive director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation and of the MTR Corporation, and an advisor for Asia Pacific to British Telecom. An accountant by profession, he was one of the founders of a predecessor firm of Ernst & Young and was Chairman of the Hong and China practice area for approximately 20 years prior to his retirement.
He was born and educated in Scotland at Hillhead High School and holds a Law degree from Glasgow University, as well as a Masters Law degree from The University of Hong Kong. He has been a resident of Hong Kong since 1970.
A keen sportsman, Brian is currently President of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union, a position he has held since 2001. He is an active tennis and golf player and has been a keen horse owner since the 1980’s. He was recently awarded the 2011 IOC Trophy by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), recognising his contributions to sport and social responsibility and was also awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) in 1998 for services to the development and promotion of Hong Kong's service industries and was appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) in 2007.
