The Chamber's China Committee has invited Mr. Shiu Sin-Por, Member of the SAR Government's Central Policy Unit to speak on the re-positioning of Hong Kong and its role in the 12-5 national plan.
Mr. Shiu has a long and distinguished career in politics advising both the Hong Kong and the PRC Governments on various key issues affecting the developments of Hong Kong. He was a Hong Kong Affairs Adviser to the Xinhua News Agency under the State Council since 1993 to 1997. He was Deputy Secretary General fo the Preparatory Committee for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 1996-1997 and Executive Director of the One Country Two Systems Research Institute from1990 to 2005.
Currently, Mr. Shiu is a Member of the 11th National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, an Honorary Advisor of China Foundation for International Studies and Academic Exchanges and Senior Advisor to the Association for Economic and Technological Cooperation of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
