Sebastian Wood is the new British Ambassador to China. On the occasion of his visit to Hong Kong next week, the Chamber has invited him to speak at a breakfast on Friday, 19 March.

Sebastian Wood joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983 and has held a succession of many senior appointments, some with a strong China focus. From 1992 - 1996, he served as First Secretary in the Joint Liaison Group in the run-up to the handover of Hong Kong. His other China related work also included a posting in Washington following US foreign policy in Asia and latterly he was the FCO's Asia-Pacific Director before secondment to Rolls Royce in 2008 - 2009.

Sebastian will speak on "Prospects for UK/China Relations".
