People Management Series: Employee Engagement

Neil Chowings & Sadia Nujhat
Monday 1st June

In such a tough economic climate, getting the best out of your people has never been so important. But how can you do this in ways that are supportive and encouraging? And with so many tools and techniques out there, how do you choose the ones that are practical and cost effective for you? This series of taster sessions is designed to demystify some useful techniques and enable you to use them in your workplace.

The session:  Whether in good times or bad, the key to driving the success of your business is engaging your workforce. After all, the results of most engagement surveys highlight that poor communication is a key barrier to business success. This session will describe the key tenets of successful employee communications; it will share some real-life case studies and, most importantly, provide ROI data that highlights how getting your internal communications right can transform your business.

Attend this session and you will:
1.  Understand the best way to communicate change to your employees.
2.  Obtain practical tips on ensuring your communication is effective in the long-term.
3.  Understand the bottom-line benefit improved communication can bring to your organisation.

The speakers: Neil Chowings is Managing Director of Work Group Asia and has been working in the field of external and internal marketing and communications for over 12 years. He has worked with organisations across three continents and in all sectors, helping them achieve their objectives through effective communications.

Sadia Nujhat is an HR Consultant. She has extensive skills in directly managing teams and heading up HR operations. Her experience of utilising employee engagement techniques during mergers, acquisitions and downsizing enable her to offer a very practical insight into how these techniques can be used effectively.
