Making Your Website Work (Harder)
Tim Hay-Edie
MD, Pilot Simple Software
IT Committee

Like the Hong Kong cityscape, the web continues to evolve at breathtaking speed. As an SME business owner there is an ever present fear that your website will be crowded out or become obsolete with the next Web 2.0 upgrade.

In reality the web is the great equalizer, it's very possible for the little guy to get noticed, and win his share of new business. Lots has been written about using social media in business. Twitter and Facebook can enhance your presence, but how do you maximise your ROI without exhausting your energies? And how do you avoid becoming a twit rather than a tweet?

In this lunchtime seminar Tim will talk about:

  • how to turn your website into your best salesman
  • how to stay ahead of your web based competition
  • how to increase qualified traffic to your site in the short and long term
  • what social media is best for you
  • how to make your website work harder

About the speaker:

Tim Hay-Edie is MD of web development studio Pilot Simple Software. Tim is very active in the Hong Kong web community and has spoken a number of times for the British Chamber on web related themes - including website usability, SEO best practice and social media case studies. Tim has also been an SME owner for 10 years and sits on the British Chamber IT committee championing SMEs in Hong Kong. Among other initiatives Tim has been involved in is the Angel Investment Programme where start ups can submit proposals to a vetting committee for a chance to present to a group of angel investors. Now in its 3rd year, the Angel Investment Programme next event is October 26, 2010. The deadline for submissions is September 17, 2010.

A sandwich lunch will be provided.  Please allow enough time to get past the security checks at the Consulate which can take a few minutes.
