How to know someone better than they know themselves in 10 minutes – techniques for interviewing and management

Psychometric profiling techniques have been used for decades to assess the suitability of people for given roles and careers. The most commonly used psychometric profiling technique is the Myers Briggs Type Indication (MBTI) which uses 4 preference categories to profile individual’s perception and decision making mechanics.

The study of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) offers a series of techniques which expand on the MBTI approach. The study of verbal and non-verbal communication patterns, rapport techniques and  ‘Complex Meta Programs’ offer a detailed profile of an individual. These can be used to improve communication with that person, predict how they will perform in given circumstances, what types of job or position they are most suited to, and how long they are likely to stay with a given employer.
These techniques are invaluable for employers to assess both interview candidates and understand how to get the best out of, and how to retain their employees.

About the Speaker:

Neil started his career as an Investment Banker in 1990.  He left investment banking in January 2004 to join a syndicate of investors to purchase Corebridge, a niche software company from Paris where he acted as CFO and Managing Director, Asia Pacific for 4 years and in the process raised over US$ 15m of Venture Capital funding from Asia, Middle East and the US.

In October 2002, he co-founded Sense of Touch, a boutique day spa on Hollywood Road in Hong Kong. After 8 years of operation, Sense of Touch now has 5 spas and a salon in Hong Kong employing over 60 staff.

Neil is the Joint-Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Angel Investment Committee and a member of the British Chamber of Commerce IT and SME Committees. He is a certified Trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy and Hypnosis, and holds a BSc (hons) degree in Accountancy and Financial Analysis from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
