Event date:
Tue, 06/12/2011 - 08:00 - 09:15
Speaker:
Jonathan Beard, Managing Director, GHK (Hong Kong) Ltd.
Hong Kong’s port is at the centre of the world’s most dynamic economic region – a position of opportunity and challenge. Over the past 15 years, the South China port sector has witnessed a transformation: high growth rates, rapid expansion of port facilities (notably in containers) and a new competitive environment. To effectively respond to these challenges and capture opportunities requires clear thinking, commitment to action and partnership among the key stakeholders (public and private). Will Hong Kong rise to the challenge or does the recent migration of key activity to competitor ports herald a tipping point?
