The global financial crisis has forced companies to rethink the cost of doing business in China.  What are the major China taxes and is it possible to reduce the taxes?  Is it possible for you to get funds out from China?

The speaker will use a case study to illustrate:

• how the taxes can affect the business viability of a running a business in China;
• the possibility of reducing China taxes by revising the business model
• how can the foreign investor extracts funds from its Chinese subsidiaries
• the recent tax audit areas, e.g. international secondment arrangement

About the Presenter:

Bolivia is a Partner with KPMG China.  Bolivia advises multinational clients on taxation, customs duty and business regulations in respect of the structure of investment and assists clients on business activities in China.  She has assisted clients in tax due diligence and advises on mergers, acquisitions, cross-border transactions and IPO projects.  She also advises clients on the repatriation of funds from China and assists clients remitting funds from China in a tax efficient manner.
