The Duke of Westminster is currently the head of Trustees of the Grosvenor Group, a privately owned property group which has been in the property business for more than three centuries.

Although Grosvenor is often identified with its core asset, the London estate, much of their present-day investment and development portfolio is in other parts of Britain and Ireland, and  has been expanding internationally since the 1950's. Grosvenor currently has twelve offices and property interests in eighteen countries around the world, and has been active in the Asia Pacific region since 1994.

His Grace previously served for many years as the non-executive Chairman of Grosvenor Group Limited, prior to retiring in April 2007. The Duke also continued his family’s long tradition of service in the Army. Having served with the Territorial Army since 1970, he was appointed Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Reserves and Cadets) in 2004, in the rank of Major General, following the contribution made by the reserves in Iraq. He became the first Territorial Army officer to be promoted to this rank since before WWII. He retired from this role in 2007.

The Duke and his family actively support over 100 charities and organisations. The Westminster Foundation, the Grosvenor family’s charitable organisation, works with charities in the following areas: Youth, Medical, Youth, Education, Social Welfare, Churches and Arts.

His Grace will offer some perspectives on Global trends post financial crisis with specific reference to the property sector.  He will comment on where he sees opportunities for growth and how Grosvenor plans to maximise these. Current trends will be set into a wider context, with a commentary on geo-political themes and challenges for businesses today: specifically whether the terror threat is abating, and sustainable development against a background of resource imbalances.
