The British Chamber Wine Club, in partnership with Platinum Wines, is pleased to announce their
next quarterly release of wines.
Wines on offer
- Big Sky Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Martinborough, New Zealand
The structure confirms the bond with the vineyard and its origins, a cool youthfulness, feisty minerality and crisp acidity. Intriguing flavours of lemongrass and nettle, dry apple and lime flower are sharply focused, bright and linear through the palate. Tropical notes are quiet but with time this will unwind and offer stonefruit and pear. Vivacious and drinkable - this is a sensual example from Big Sky.
- Dom de Triennes, Rose, Pays d’Oc, 2009, France
A light, dry Rosé that is elegant and aromatic. First impressions are that of strawberries, watermelon and candy. The palate is very well-rounded and offers an all-round fresh flavour. Made from an interesting blend of grapes, notably the Cinsault grape, this wine is bottled early to help preserve freshness. Great with salads and accompanies creamy cheese very well.
- Bad Boy 2008, Bordeaux, France
Sweet and round and New Worldy. This Bordeaux offers attractive plum and black cherry fruit notes with some underbrush and damp earth. It is a dark ruby, tasty, round, and very good value. Drink it over the next several years.
- Chateau Marjosse 2008, Bordeaux, France
Restrained but fresh and a bit on the lighter side. Aromatic, slightly leafy mid-palate with a fine, dry, fresh and lingering texture. This wine possesses more depth than usual as it is generally a fruity, impeccably well-made, low level Bordeaux to drink in its first 3-4 years of life.
- Skilagolee Shiraz 2005, Clare Valley, Australia
Very deep brick red colour showing signs of bottle age, with deep brick red hue. Perfumed nose of blackberry, spice and vanilla. On the palate are flavours of plum, blackberry and vanilla over a light cedar background. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Aftertaste of vanilla and cedar.
- Calvet Thunevin Constance 2005, St.Emilion, France
A wine that tastes like it costs three times the price! Consisting of Grenache with 30% Syrah and 10% Carignan. Sweet and alluring aromas of crème de cassis and raspberry lead to a palate of liqueur-like richness along with deep bitter chocolate and coffee with a mineral undertone.
