The environment is a 'coming megatrend' that is set to shape international sourcing, transport and logistics for years to come. Whilst container shipping is the 'angel among the sinners' in terms of its' environmental impact compared with other modes of transport, shipping still has a significant environmental footprint. Ocean carriers such as Maersk Line are working on a wide range of environmental initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our activities.

Tim Smith is Maersk's Chief Executive of the North Asia Region. He is responsible for all aspects of Maersk Line’s business in Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, which together contribute more than 35% of the global Maersk Line throughout.
