Continuing in our showcase series of environmental and sustainability programmes, the Chamber's Environment Committee is organising a half day visit to MTRC's depot at Kowloon Bay which supports and maintains the Kwun Tong Line.

The Chamber's Environment Committee is organising a half day visit to illustrate how glass and construction waste is recycled into paving bricks in Hong Kong.  The tour will start at the glass collection point in Wanchai, followed by a tour of the glass recycling factory and end by showing you the final application of the Eco-Glass Bricks.

Continuing in our showcase series of environmental programmes within the Hong Kong business community, the Chamber's Environment Committee is organising a half day visit to Hong Kong Disneyland where you will be shown the highlights of their environmental initiatives.

How is a carbon credit produced, verified, traded and retired? What are the essential differences in between voluntary and compliance credits, and what questions should astute investors ask about each? This event will examine the carbon credit lifecycle, with a focus on critical points of opportunity and failure. Its aim is to provide a basis for informed discussion of the evolution of carbon markets globally and their potential in Asia.

On the face of it, adopting electric vehicles (EVs) which have more efficient engines, are non-polluting and run on a cheaper power source seems to make sense. Join our distinguished speakers at our panel event to discuss what is theoretically possible and hence what will be the appropriate use and benefit of EVs in the long term, and what the barriers to short term action in Hong Kong are and what should be done to overcome them.

Paul Sands, Country Manager for Virgin Atlantic will share the highlights of his PhD research into factors that influence innovation and discuss how we can encourage those factors to push in the direction of sustainability. Intrigued?  Whether you are engaged in innovation in general or sustainability in particular, the seminar will have much to offer.

The Chamber's Environment Committee is organizing a ½ day visit to the HK International Airport where senior executives of the Airport Authority will brief us on their environmental programmes followed by a tour of both the airside and landside facilities.
